The course DEV40103 Off-Grid Photovoltaic (OGPV) System Installation focuses on the practical aspects of installing, wiring, and testing off-grid solar photovoltaic systems. It provides students with hands-on experience in setting up complete OGPV systems according to technical standards and safety regulations.
Students will learn how to install solar modules, connect charge controllers, inverters, and batteries, as well as perform cable management, earthing, and system protection. The course emphasizes proper installation techniques, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting methods to ensure that systems operate efficiently and safely.
Through guided laboratory work and real-world installation projects, students will gain the skills to assemble, test, and maintain small-scale off-grid solar systems, preparing them for industry applications in rural electrification, agriculture, and standalone energy systems.
This course reinforces practical competencies aligned with SEDA Malaysia and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements for solar PV installation.
